1.MAKE YOUR CRAP
You give us waste paper
, we take it.
You give us egg shells
, we take it.
You give us any garbage
, we take it.
Well we took the idea
that “Everything in the world has some use ” a little too far (and included
trash to this list of things)….
MAKE YOUR CRAP was the
right event for all those good with art and craft, and who could use their
scissors , paints and glue with perfection.
The participants were
provided with all kinds of the trash that we would not even give a second look
to , and their task was to make something either aesthetically pleasing or of
practical usage out of it.
This event inculcated
in the participants, a sense of
responsibility about the proper disposal of waste and also developed an eye for
the items that we tag “waste” but are actually not.
Although our main
motive from this event was generation of new ideas and extraction of creativity at the college level , in the next level of this event ,
however, we plan to teach this art to
villagers and other people with less opportunities , as this is a viable
employment avenue well worth the grab.
A great event none-the-less that taught everyone ,
including us , the members of YFAC , to realize the importance of everything
around , and to appreciate the beauty of every single thing.
2.COLLAGE
MAKING
Well it would not be
wrong if we were to call this event our forte. Over these years , collage
making and YFAC have well been linked together and every year , the response to
Collage Making just surpasses our expectations. The success of this might just
be contributed to the brilliant ideas , the never ending creativity of the
participants and enthusiasm of all linked with the event.
It is said that a
picture speaks a thousand words , and
this events just proves it right every time. This event provides the students
with a relief from the intellectual and the brain racking events and gives them
a platform where a junior can very well compete with a senior .
But yes , with all the
fun involved in COLLAGE MAKING , it does also provide the participants and the
people with a plethora of other learning options. With our themes likes “SAVE
THE TIGER” , “VICES OF THE YOUTH TODAY” , we make the students socially
sensitive and responsible towards the problems existing in our society today.
And yes , last but not
the least , we do provide the all the artists stuck in this engineering college
with a chance to showcase their talent. J
3.TREASUREVILLE
This
ain’t any online game as the name suggests but it is a treasure hunt with loads of learning
aspects involved. The newest concept introduced in the YFAC bag of events , it carries with itself a potpourri of
activities that would make an individual responsible and essentially caring
towards the nature and the mishappenings in the society today .
Treasureville
is all about fun , excitement , thrill and loads of skill. True of vision our of
exploration and creating awareness , the first of its kind event in our college
, Treasureville tested the participants
on their physical prowess , mental smartness , decision making abilities
and their knowledge about the society.
There is
an element of surprise in this event at every stage . Winning here isn’t a
cakewalk , but as they say , THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL.
And
unexpectedly , we had to conduct a preliminary quiz to choose the top 50 teams
to qualify for the actual hunt , owing to the brilliance of the ideas and the
novelty of the event.
Just to
brief you about the event , it comprised of 7 stages where every team had to
complete the level to move on to the next level using hints and clues and maps.
The fun and the learning part came into light when after each level , every
participant had to do an activity related to the social problems , for instance
, “hugging a tree” , “watering a sapling” , “shouting a slogan”, “picking up
garbage” and loads of others.
This
event simulated , in the college , the actual treasure hunts as shown on
televisions and also gathered huge responses from the participants and public.
In the
end , just to summarise TREASUREVILLE , the words of Jeff Warwick seem apt-“Its
like a Treasure Hunt , in a way , and you are the detective”.
